After his father is gunned down in a Mexican gunfight and their company craters, Mathew Nelson, is struggling mightily. The incensed family patriarch hires Matt and brother John to chase down the swindlers. Their wild pursuit takes them from singles bars in Brooklyn to the ski slopes of Vermont to mountains of Utah. Their success will be rewarded by a favor only the patriarch can grant. 

 As orchestrated by a scheming district attorney at home, things look grim for Matt, who has been indicted and is about to stand trial. Though innocent, he deliberates taking a deal with the DA involving prison time or facing the whim of a jury. He cannot imagine subjecting Ellen and their two children to a highly visible trial. Can anything possibly save him at the eleventh hour?
